Research Interests

Research in our laboratory has been directed mainly toward understanding antibody structure, biosynthesis, and diversity in the immune response. We have used monoclonal antibodies as model systems in studying immune responses to dinitrophenyl (DNP) antigens. Recently we have collaborated with investigators in the Department of Ophthalmology at Washington University on the role of the immune system in the pathogenesis of uveitis, a serious inflammatory eye disease of unknown etiology.
